The project explores the transformative potential of inflatable architecture as a dynamic, interactive space for the Pratt community. Located in the Rose Garden on the Pratt campus, the installation features undulating surfaces of negative curvature, created by 2D cosine wave patterns mapped along Archimedean spirals. When inflated, the spirals transform into smooth, organic saddle shapes, creating a playful, multi-dimensional environment. As night falls, the inflatable turns into a lively, shell-like silent disco experience, offering a vibrant space for socializing, refreshing, and stress relieving. Measuring approximately 30 x 60 feet, the silent disco can expand, offering distinct zones for Pratt participants to seamlessly move between spirals, choosing the atmosphere that resonates with them.
